Amphitheater construction in Legion Park

Amphitheater Seating: Redmond Kiwanis members contributed nearly 400 volunteer hours and about $20,000 to construct amphitheater seating in the new Legion Park in the Dry Canyon. The project compliments the performance stage spearheaded by the Redmond Rotary Club. The facility was dedicated in October 2008, and hosted its first concert series throughout the summer of 2009.

Spud bowl renovation

Spud Bowl Improvements: The amphitheater seating project caps a long tradition of parks development and improvements by Redmond Kiwanians. In the late 1980s, the club began landscaping the new Sam Johnson Park in the heart of the Dry Canyon. After irrigation and paths were completed, the club constructed playground equipment, and a few years later completed a massive picnic pavilion. In 2007, the club also updated the landscaping in the Spud Bowl, adjacent to the Kiwanis Soccer Field. That project also enhanced spectator seating in the popular facility.
